High Tech Dentistry
Annual Meeting set to take a new course!
Details are being finalized in what is likely to be the most unique and versatile meeting your Indiana AGD has sponsored in its history.
Not only are needs being met for our member dentists’ but their clinical staff of hygienists and assistants will also have numerous opportunities to learn of cutting edge technologies and techniques during the one day annual meeting scheduled for Friday, Jan. 25th.
This years meeting will be held at the Indianapolis Convention Center to accommodate the numerous meeting offerings and large exhibit hall with the many vendors prepared to attend. Rather than featuring one main podium speaker as with past meetings, this year will offer several speakers for dentists, and several programs for hygienists and assistants alike. The draw and focus is expected to be a large exhibit hall with vendors offering handling and perusal of their materials and products in an unhurried manner. The didactic material will be offered in shorter learning modules with several breaks to allow for casual ‘shopping’ in the exhibit hall.
Dr. Ted Reese, CE director for the Academy, has seen a need for such a meeting for several years, commenting “With all the new technology our profession is being inundated with it would be nice to have a one day meeting dedicated to just the technology that is being offered to us. There is so much technology that is staff driven it only makes sense to involve our staff in this learning and decision process about which avenue to go first.”
Some doctors want to learn about the lasers, some about CADCAM, some about implant designs and prosthetic options, we’ve been working real hard to bring many of these vendors under one roof for our membership and their staff. The Indiana AGD has made a decision to provide this meeting free to our members, and only charge a nominal fee for staff attendance and lunches. This is the second year in a row that the annual meeting has been offered at no charge to our members!
In order to fulfill the Ethics and Bylaws CE requirement, Kathleen Roman of Medical Protective will be speaking to our doctors as a group, and then later to the hygienists for their CE requirements as well.
Don’t delay in your registration. We need each office to registrar for this meeting with doctors, and the staff as well, so adequate room size, and schedule can be arranged. Help us, help you!

VIZILITE Plus technology assists in seeing abnormal tissue in the mouth, before it is plainly obvious. As ViziLite Plus passes over oral tissue that has been treated with the rinse solution, normal healthy tissue will absorb the light and appear dark, abnormal tissue will appear white. The purpose of using ViziLite Plus is to identify tissue changes at their earliest stage; once abnormal tissue has been identified it is up to your dental professional to determine what the appropriate next steps are.
